Spectacular Mountain Golf

Many people don't know this but Colorado has some of the best mountain golf courses around. And, there are quite a few to pick from around Ouray.

- Fairway Pines Golf Club: Fairway Pines is located in Ridgway (about 10 miles north of Ouray). It is a great golf course that is always empty and has spectacular views of the Rockies. You are sure to see many deer during your round as you play through pine forest at Fairway Pines.

- Telluride Ski and Golf Club: Telluride is known for its skiing but it also has a fantastic golf course. The course is situated on the side of the ski mountain which brings multiple elevation changes and some very fun and unique holes. Also, the views from the course are second to none.

- Tamarron Golf Resort: About 75 minutes to the south of Ouray is Tamarron. This is a top-class golf resort that is consistently ranked among the top 50 golf resorts in the country.

- Dalton Ranch Golf Club: Located about 5 minutes south of Tamarron, Dalton Ranch is a fun course set in a mountain valley. It's a challenging course with a lot of water and great views of the surrounding mountains.

Travel the San Juan Skyway
The San Juan Skyway is a roadway that loops from Ouray to Telluride to Durango and back to Ouray. In addition to its stunning mountains and geology, the route is an excursion though history... from the ancient cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde Park, to the mining and railroad antiquities located in some of the most romantic Victorian towns in North America!

Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park, a United Nations World Heritage Site, is known internationally for the fabulous cliff dwellings. In an effort to preserve this priceless archeological treasure, the National Park Service has excavated and stabilized both mesa top and cliff dwelling sites, chronologically interpreting some 700 years of mesa occupation so that people today can learn from the past.
